Children Matters
If there are children in your family, then you will already be very aware of the effect that your divorce or separation is likely to have on them. Your children will need to know that both their parents will continue to love and care for them. As a society we have developed a better understanding of the impact that a divorce or separation can have on children. At Warings, our first objective is always to try to help you respond to and meet your children's needs in the best and most compassionate way possible.
We are members of Resolution and are committed to resolving disputes without confrontation and to encouraging parents to put the interests of their children first.
We also recognise that when emotions are running high, it can be difficult for parents to reach an agreement about their children. We can guide you through the process of applying to the court for a Residence Order, where the court will decide who your children will live with and a Contact Order, where the court will decide the level of contact between your children and the parent who does not live with them.
We can also help you apply for orders to prevent your former spouse taking steps with your children that you are not happy with, such as taking them out of the country, or request a direction from the court in relation to something you cannot agree on, such as the choice of school your children attend.
Warings clients are also entitled to apply for Legal Aid through our membership of the Family Legal Aid scheme. We can advice you as to whether you might qualify and help you complete and submit your application.

I have found the assistance of Warings Solicitors and in particular Claire Charnley, to be excellent.
My children had been removed from my care and the Local Authority had issued care proceedings. I was confused and did not understand everything. Claire explained things to me in a way which I could understand. This is not only what I would have liked to have expected, but much more.
I found the advice given to me to be open and honest. A little to the point at times, but this is just what I needed. I have already referred other people, including friends to Warings Solicitors and would not hesitate in advising anybody else to instruct Warings Solicitors, if they ever needed a solicitor.![]()
